May 23, 2004 Humblik, Linknoid, and Yanthor are off at the local magic tournament, so it's pretty quite here. I will have to tear myself away from the network connection, pack up my computer and be on my way. I hope I'm not forgetting something too important here. Okay, I'm out of here. Thanks everyone for the good visit. May 17, 2004 I am sitting at calcite in its festing location, although the Colorado contengency has now returned home. Jaeger quickly set up his machine at home we've noticed. Yanthor went off to work this morning a little later than he intended. Humblik took off today in order to recover from loss of sleep. After awaking late, he is now watching Linknoid find a scene from B5 which contains a quote he thought of in conversation. Twenty-eight minutes of searching and the quote was found. Truly exciting times. From the above you might assertain a definate lack of important info to convey here. As I've said before and grow tired of repeating, everytime I start to write here, so much time seems to have elapsed that I have to spend the majority of my efforts getting into practice by typing that which interests virtually no one. A shame really, but then the alternative would be to do this regularly--maybe to something I'm yet willing to undertake. March 24, 2004
I'll start by saying that it has been my habit for many years to carry a jacknife (I'm constantly surprised by men who don't seem to have a knife on them). How do they ever get by I wonder. Anyway, I recently lost my second knife to have a pocket clip; I replaced it with a knife I liked which didn't have a clip. No big deal, I thought. The clip is kind-of nice, but I've been happy without one for a long time, so no problem. Well, after a few days, I decided differently and wandered out to the garage to see what I could use to make a clip for my new knife. I settled upon a piece for stainless steel flat stock (salvaged from worn out windshield wipers) and proceeded to bend it into an appropriate shape. There is where the project stayed for a week or so because I didn't have any screws small enought to fasten my new pocket clip to the knife's handle. Well, this week I made a visit to the local hardware store looking for small screws. 4-40 was the smallest tap I had, so I either needed that size or I needed to buy a matching tap as well. I eventually found 4-40 screws, both brass and steel, and some smaller ones too. Unfortunately, they didn't have taps any smaller than I had, so rather that search all over for who knows how long, I decided to use the just barely small enough number 4 screws. A couple holes later--one threaded, one not--and I was the proud owner of just what I'd been looking for.
