Wow, was it 2005 since I last posted something here? Maybe the whole idea should be abandoned. I could tell you what's the latest with me, but I doubt I have any regular visitors at this point. There's simply nothing new to draw returning visitors. And this is too low a priority to make it keep pace with life. Then again, I don't want to publish just any old thing.

Recently, I've been getting some welding practice. I've fabricating a grader blade for my Farmall tractor. It's a model 140 made by International Harvester, but it still carries tho Farmall nameplates and is essentially an upgraded Farmall A (also made by IH)--it has the same transmission, wheels, etc, but the engine is different as is the lift, hood, and seat.

Perhaps I'll post pictures of the finished grader.

As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. Proverbs 25:25

I like this quote. It was on my main page today and I thought it was insightful. How refreshing to hear good news from someone you've lost touch with. Maybe a friendship is renewed. Maybe worry is relieved.

When I read that quote I wanted to post something about it only to discover that something had broken. My photo gallery was broken too. How annoying. So after Sabbath I hunted down the problem. Just as I suspected, it must have been caused by a php upgrade. It seems I had a function called public, but I guess that's a reserved word now, so parsing of the whole page just died. Annoying. Not that I have anything against reserved words, but it is a bit strange to have to go in and rewrite stuff as the language shifts beneath your code.

Okay, back to the previous silence.

I have been informed that I've had a test message sitting here looking important for months with no hint of actual content. Hmm. Maybe I'm just not into this whole "content generation" thing enough to keep the vultures circling.

Anyway, I managed to spend a long weekend in Lincoln for a combination vacation/business trip. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I should do that more often.

Today I managed to fold some laundry, do some mowing and brush trimming. I also photographed (I don't have a scanner) an old book I was telling someone about that is very much out of print. My copy was printed in the 1850s. Hopefully I'll post it today. That should be fun. Maybe at some point I'll even have a text version available. (Wishful thinking? I don't know.)

Okay, there's my obligitory post. Maybe I'll write more later.
