Notice: I will not be renewing strick7.org. I have decided to only maintain one domain name for the time being. strick7.org will expire in December. My personal page can now be found at john.zont.org. Please update your visiting habits accordingly.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming. Thank you for your attention.

Guess what everyone!? I gave my oral presentation today. It is over, done, finished! Wow, that is very nice. Now for the disclaimer: I still have work to do on my paper. It's close, but still needs the addition of some boiler-plate items such as a table of figures, etc. I anticipate leaving around Sunday. We shall see.

In other news, I am planning to go as a student missionary after I'm finished here. Destination? South America. It should be interesting. Well, it's 3 minutes to chapel; I think I'll go.

Okay, it's now well after chapel. I'm glad I went. I intended to write more, but I've got some things to do, so I'll stop this for the moment.

I will now once again issue an announcement that I have not, in fact, dropped off the face of the earth. My scheduled presentation for today was thwarted by the failure of my laptop to maintain civility with the projector. Had I suspected such a thing, I would have had a contengency plan. As it was, I tried to get it to work until enough time had passed that I didn't have enough time to finish. Bummer. Yeah, so the earliest I can present now is next Tuesday. This might not be as bad as it seems though. I do have several things to add to my paper along with some other things that need to be taken care of before I quite this pleasant little town.

I other news, I've decided not to renew strick7.org. I wasn't sure if it was just what I wanted when I registered it, but I thought I'd try it out. I am much more attached to zont.org which hasn't seen to much attention in the last year. The plan is to move this site to john.zont.org. In the meantime, zont.org/john also points here (in case you find strick7.org has disapeared). There should also be a link from zont.org. At this point I'm only planning on keeping one domain.

In still other news (perhaps that's the theme of this edition), I managed to send nearly all of my winter clothes home with my mom and brother after graduation. I didn't even conceive that I could possibly still be here when it started to get cold. Well, it's been cold recently, at least for this southern boy with summer clothes. There've been days with highs in the 30s. Anyway, the reason I bring this up is to tell about what happened this evening. I've been really wishing I had kept a sweater, so I finally when to the mall to see if I could find a wool sweater I liked that didn't cost too much. (I'm not picky or anything. . .) Well, I looked in various stores that might be promising. I was amazed that I didn't find a single wool sweater. That's probably a good thing or I might have bought something I shouldn't have. Okay, so last of all I go into the most expensive department store in the mall, but not with much in the way of expectations. My suspicions were confirmed when I found 55 dollar cotton sweaters. Oh great, so how much are tho wool ones. To make this a bit shorter, I bought two great wool sweaters for $20 each--one was originally $55, the other $65.

Wow, this was a long time in the writing. I'll post it now though it'll be dated a day later. Enjoy.
